The Elites and Immortals meet together every night, to practice their powers and see who among them has been lost. One of the teachers runs this class, a woman who never lost her powers because she was an Immortal. But, the teacher cannot be present for all of the meetings, so the kids have taken it upon themselves to continue this tradition.
The Elites and Immortals meet every night when all of the other kids slumber. Most of the teachers are unaware of this fact, so it is dangerous for any of the children to get caught trying to get to the meeting place.
